IRCC document translation service

Degree Certificate Translation for IRCC Applications

Degree certificates and graduation documents are often used to support education, identity or immigration records. If your degree certificate is not in English or French and your IRCC application asks for it, we can translate the document and its visible stamps, seals and annotations.

Independent service: IRCC Translation is not affiliated with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada or the Government of Canada.

Degree certificate or academic transcript?

A degree certificate confirms the qualification awarded, while an academic transcript usually lists courses, grades, credits and study dates. If your application requires both, they should be treated as separate source documents.

For transcripts, see our academic transcript translation service.

IRCC requirements vary by program

IRCC generally requires supporting documents to be in English or French, but translation and supporting-document requirements depend on the application program and translator status.

Review the current IRCC guidance on supporting documents and translations.

What we translate

Qualification information

We translate the visible information on the certificate, including the holder’s name, institution, qualification, subject or field of study, award date, classification where shown, signatures, stamps, seals and other official text.

The translation reflects the source document and does not convert grades or provide an educational equivalency assessment.

Before ordering

Please provide a clear scan of the complete certificate and tell us the IRCC program or purpose. If the relevant instructions require a specific type of translator, certification or affidavit, tell us when requesting your quote so we can confirm whether the service can meet that requirement.
